With over a decade of experience capturing joyful memories and candid moments, I guide you and your family through a thoughtful process that enables you to be fully present during your session. Every moment from when I show up to when I wave goodbye is observed and documented in a meaningful way. I may snap a photo of you helping to tie your toddler’s shoes before we go outside for a posed family portrait or I may sneak a picture of you and your partner near the changing table as you sing songs and change your baby in between portraits. I’m passionate about documenting moments, and my signature photography process ensures that your gallery will be filled with a purposeful medley of timelessly candid captures and beautifully posed images without taking you away from the love you feel for your family.
Hi! I'm julia
My older brothers and I pretty much grew up outdoors. Mom and Dad encouraged us to play outside, rain or shine, until our cheeks were pink and the moon was starting to come up over the horizon. We made mud pies, jumped in puddles and rolled down hills. They taught us the names of the trees, and the flowers, and to recognize a bird’s song.
My parents taught me to stop and admire a sunset, to plant something and watch it grow, to take time to enjoy the little things in life.
I still believe in rolling down hills, snow ball fights, and splashing in puddles. I still stop and pick wildflowers, go outside on balmy summer nights to catch fireflies, and never miss an opportunity to lie on my back and watch the clouds float by.
I still believe that life has room for wonder, if we only find the time.
My years of experience make it easy to blend in the background so I can capture you, your partner, and your growing family at your most candid moments! There’s nothing that compares to that honest joy and raw emotion.
